An Exciting Ride: My Experience as an Actor Driving a Police Car

I've been looking forward to this shoot day ever since I was told the producers were going to rent a police car. I had no plans on driving the car. I just wanted to be around it, take pictures with it, ride in it, perform in it and definitely see the lights flash. But when I got to set, the directors told me I was taking this bad boy for ride. I'd be lying, if I said I was completely cool about this. I mean I was cool on the outside but on the inside I was freaking out.

Now, I had to worry about forcefully driving this big a*s boat of a car, into this tiny narrow drive without crashing, denting, or scratching this rental or anything near me. I also had to remember how all the buttons and doohickeys worked to make the lights flash and the sirens blare. Mind you, all the cast and crew were watching me. So, I had to look good doing it! No pressure at all. Luckily, I had scene partner Mark who plays officer Volibear along for the ride. Mark was joy to work with and he was huge help in making that shot successful. On set, you can only freak out for so long, because next thing you know, lickety split, you are behind the wheel of police car with your director yelling action. I focused myself because it was time to do the damn thing.
Needless to say, it all went well and I had nothing to worry about. I nailed it in the first couple of shots. I'm so grateful that I was asked to drive because it only made the experience even more memorable. This will truly be a day I will never forget. I'm looking forward to all the amazing adventures to come as Morgana and as an actress.
